After exploring our dogwood from several angles, I thought this was a great angle to capture the beauty of the flowers as sunlight filtered through the tree, and also see a view of our house and our recent outbuilding addition to the property.

Wild Birds During Winter Snow

Our birdfeeder has provided the only signs of life for the past month or so as snowstorm after snowstorm has pounded our region. Already this is the snowiest season in recorded history for the Roanoke region, with 40 days ’til Spring.

Summertime Sunflowers

John Deere Gator XUV

Here’s our new John Deere Gator XUV, purchased in April 2009. We’ve already used it to clear the mountain road and do a lot of other cleanup work around the property. It kicks ass!

Spring Rainbow

This rainbow appeared over Taylor’s Mountain as the sun was setting after rain showers. I took the photo with a wide-angle lens and still barely fit the rainbow in my viewfinder, thus the darkness in the corners.
